Trained and experienced in studio production involving multi-camera techniques, audio, satellite recordings, computer graphics, and editing. Career experience complemented by a masters degree in telecommunications and a bachelors degree in communication with special interest in market research.

Responsible for pre-production, post-production and distribution of George Mason University’s telecourses. Recruit and train new professors and act as a liaison with telecourse faculty.
Producer, editor and videographer of nationally recognized award winning productions.
Serve as an off-line and on-line editor for GMU-TV productions and projects.
Created and maintained GMU-TV’s World Wide Web presence supervising and creating all additions and changes.
Order and recommend and purchase equipment.

TECHNICAL OPERATIONS CENTER OPERATOR

Globecast Communications formerly Keystone Communications, Washington, DC 1994-present

Coordinate uplinking, switching and scheduling of news, public events, and daily programs to C and KU, and digital Satellites. Monitor and adjust video and audio levels.
Direct, light, and setup for live studio and prerecorded programs to be uplinked to a national and international clientele.
Schedule and purchase satellite transponder time.
Clients include: Fox News, World Wide Wrestling Federation, CSPAN, Conus Communications, ABC News, BET, and Hearst Argyle.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, MEDIA AUTHORING CENTER: PRODUCER/DIRECTOR

George Mason University, Fairfax, VA 1995-1997

Managed the daily operations of the Media Authoring Center,now called STAR. Activities included oversight of video, audio and multimedia production facilities. Consulted with faculty and students concerning the technical direction of their work, and taught media and multimedia production techniques.
Oversaw George Mason Universities Head End, which included monitoring audio and video levels, scheduling and programming The Crestron Media Retrieval System, and training of staff.
Supervised the Media Authoring Center’s Television Studio including producing, directing and lighting for all productions.
Involved with designing and developing the Media Authoring Center from concept to reality following rigid budget restrictions. This included equipment ordering, planning and building of the studio, and editing stations, as well as, proposing, ordering and installing Apple and IBM Multimedia Work Stations.
Produced/Directed/Edited weekly informational programming on events and happenings at George Mason University.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR CABLECAST OPERATIONS

George Mason University Television, Fairfax, VA 1993-1995

Coordinated switching of educational programs broadcast daily to major cable systems in Northern Virginia. Using broadcast quality Character Generators, update a daily information bulletin board informing students, and viewers of upcoming events, schedules, and announcements. Responsible for keeping audio and video levels within NTSC specifications.

Member of production teams responsible for editing and camera work for productions, and television educational programs produced for students, universities, and television stations across the nation.

Assistant Engineer/Master Control Operator/Production Technician

WNVC-CHANNEL56/WNVT-CHANNEL53, (PBS Affiliate), 1988-1993, Fairfax, VA

Responsible for 40 live educational switches a day broadcast to 12 Northern Virginia school districts with 250,000 students in grades K thru 12. Involved in all aspects of productions for documentaries educational , promo’s, and international programs for the Public Broadcasting Service, distributed to affiliates throughout the United States and the world.
Assisted engineers in all aspects of technical support for a television station. Duties included: timing, minor repairs, overhaul of studio and remote truck, live microwave, and KU Band Satellite Uplinks.
