Introduction
George Mason University Television is an
organization dedicated to distributed education. Our mission is
to support excellence in learning and teaching by producing quality
educational and informational programming. We produce telecourses,
distance learning modules, and public affairs and public outreach
programs in addition to a variety of multimedia projects. GMU-TV
staff has created training materials for talk show and telecourse
talent, serve as script and public speaking consultants, and are
actively expanding their areas of expertise.
GMU-TV's website continues to grow as a wealth
of resources and information. As an addendum to our programming,
GMU-TV has created websites for many of our telecourses
and talk shows. Through streaming media on the Web we have increased
our broadcast potential from over 550,000 homes throughout Northern
Virginia to a worldwide audience. Additionally, selected programming
airs locally and nationally through partnerships with PAX-TV,
WNVC-TV, and the Research Channel.
